Arkham Knight has bee announced, the trailer looks extremely impressive. The Arkham Series is a great series, I have played Asylum and City and loved both. The stories were Elaborate and the graphics of the games were amazing. I appealed to me as both a Batman fan and a gamer. I will admit I haven't played Arkham Origins, this is due to a new developer and I wanted the price to drop before I purchased it. Yes, I am frugal, I will admit it. There is one downfall to this announcement, it was only announced for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Granted, I recognize that it is due to it being for the next generation consoles and PC, which I can respect. With that being said, it doesn't mean that I agree with it. Firstly, the Wii U is omitted, I have expressed myself as a Wii U fan. I honestly feel that I can be happy with just having the Wii U for a few years as my entrant to the next generation. These third party developers are making that a little difficult. The "big" players in this field that are still developing for the Wii U are Activision and Ubisoft (Watch Dogs is due to launch on it). Secondly, they have omitted the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well. This means if you haven't purchased these consoles, you will have to pay $400 (or more) to play this game.
There are many reasons I have issues with this, Rocksteady is effectively shortening their reach. Several people haven't bought Xbox One or the PS4 for economic reasons, and honestly are more than likely still playing games on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Then omitting another current generation console, with the Wii U, they have shrunk their market even more. I could understand it being a first party title and you wanted to endorse your console, but this being done by a third party publisher leaves me scratching my head. We all know companies love profits, why not put it on every system in the market?
