Nintendo's stock has recovered, it has seemed that no one has reported it? Why is that? My guess they prefer to report negatively about companies. Nintendo's dark and gloomy outlook maybe non existent. Nintendo has survived for years, they know what they are doing, been doing it for sometime. Can't really ever count them out. Virtual Boy is a good example of that. The Wii U is an innovation, though most don't want to accept it. It is. Nintendo will recover and be just fine.
Before I go more in depth about Nintendo, I also want to address a few other things about the other console companies. Microsoft is mainly a computer mainly a computer company, that does the XBOX as well. Not saying they do not try to do well with the XBOX, but it doesn't shy that it is not their first pursuant and have been in the game for least amount of time. Second about Microsoft, on the PC side Windows 8 is failing. HP is moving to go back to Windows 7. Microsoft is known to have every other OS to be best. Also worth noting that the first XBOX was a loss for Microsoft.
Now to Sony, second longest of the current "Big Three", Sony is an entertainment company. Jumped into the video game console business in 1994. It has done well with the first 3 incarnation of Playstation. Finishing first on the PS2 (and I believe PS1) and Second on the PS3. Sony has dealt with issues with the Vita, but overall has done decent in the video game industry. Naughty dog, an exclusive publisher, has turned out hits after hits with no sign of slowing down.
My purpose for this, every console has it's own identity. Nintendo comes from the old school video game industry where innovation is key. They will do what they feel the direction will head in, which, they were right in motion control, and keep chugging along being Nintendo. Microsoft is a computer company, who is doing innovation in a direction of voice control and entertainment. They are pursuing where a livingroom console of the future is basically a livingroom computer. Sony, is an entertainment company, who is trying to provide multiple products in the PS4. Yes it is primarily gaming, but Playstation Now and other things they offer show that is a gaming console with an entertainment identity. In short, pick the console that is best for YOU. The hype and "fanboyism" shouldn't sway you. If you feel that Nintendo will suit your needs, go Wii U. If you want the XBOX features, go XBOXOne. If you feel Sony is for you, go PS4. There is no wrong answer, especially this time around. Go with the one that suits YOU.
